Job Site Crane Collapse In Victoria Area Kills Man, Injures Another

    METCHOSIN, B.C. — The collapse of a construction crane in Metchosin, B.C., has killed a worker and seriously injured the crane's operator.
     
    RCMP in the district near Victoria say an ambulance was called to the building site Thursday afternoon after a report that the crane above a construction area had failed.
     
    Police say two people were found in the wreckage, one person was already dead and another was seriously injured.
     
    The person killed, a 42-year-old man from nearby Langford, has not been identified.
     
    The operator of the crane has significant injuries.
     
    Police, WorksafeBC and the BC Coroners Service are all investigating the accident.
