TORONTO — Former radio host Jian Ghomeshi is expected to be in court Wednesday in regards to a sexual assault charge he faces.
The Ontario Ministry of the Attorney General announced the court date today.
Ghomeshi had been expected to stand trial on the sexual assault charge next month.
The ministry gave no reason for the change.
However, a source has told The Canadian Press that Ghomeshi is expected to sign a peace bond and the sexual assault charge would be withdrawn.
Ghomeshi's defence lawyer has not responded to requests for comment on the matter, nor have other parties to the case.
In March, the former host of the CBC radio show "Q" was acquitted of sexual assault and choking charges related to three complainants.
