Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 07 Oct, 2015 12:24 PM
SURREY, B.C. — A 22-year-old man who was waiting for a bus in Surrey, B.C., has died after being struck by a Jeep.

RCMP say he was sitting on a bench under the bus shelter on Wednesday morning when he was hit.

Police say a black Jeep was turning left on Fraser Highway when it jumped a curb and hit the shelter.

The 17-year-old driver from Surrey had minor injuries and police say she is co-operating with the investigation.

While the cause of the crash is under investigation, police say wet weather may have been a factor.

The intersection of Fraser Highway at 156th Street remains partly closed while a criminal collision investigation crew is at the scene.
