James Daniel McIntyre Identified As Man Shot By Dawson Creek Police, Anonymous Vows Revenge

    VANCOUVER — A man shot and killed by police in northern British Columbia has been identified.
     
    The corners' service has issued a news release identifying the man as James Daniel McIntyre, a 48-year-old resident of Dawson Creek, B.C.
     
    The release says McIntyre was fatally shot Thursday night outside a restaurant in Dawson Creek, where a hearing for the Site C hydroelectric dam was taking place.
     
     
    Eyewitness video shows a man wearing a Guy Fawkes mask lying bloodied on the ground while two RCMP officers face him with weapons drawn.
     
    The global activist hackers' group Anonymous has claimed through social media that the man was one of its comrades and has vowed revenge against the RCMP.
     
     
    The province's police watchdog is investigating the shooting and says a knife has been seized.
