Correctional Service Canada says an inmate has died after an assault at a B-C prison.
The service says the 43-year-old inmate died Sunday while in the custody of the Kent Institution in Agassiz.
Police and the coroner has been notified of the death.
The victim was serving an indeterminate sentence that began in January 2021.

Al Raine, the only mayor of Sun Peaks Resort Municipality and husband of champion skier Nancy Greene Raine, has died at the age of 83. They say officers responded to reports of shots fired outside a home at around 1:30 a.m. yesterday and discovered bullets in a vehicle parked in the driveway and the side of the house.
