Injured man left in vehicle identified as 27 year old Richard Ofosuhene, of Edmonton

SURREY, B.C. - An Alberta man has been identified as the victim of the latest fatal shooting in Surrey, B.C.

Homicide investigators say 27-year-old Richard Ofosuhene of Edmonton was found Tuesday, injured and unconscious, in the driver's seat of a running vehicle on a Surrey street.

Police say Ofosuhene was known to police and had ties to drug trafficking in Alberta but they believe his homicide is an isolated incident.

A statement from the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team says a motive has not yet been confirmed.

However, it says the slaying does not appear linked to Metro Vancouver's ongoing gang conflict.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses or dashcam video from anyone who was in the area of northwest Surrey between 8 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. on Sept. 20.

A report from the service on deaths says the fatalities happened between July 26 and Aug. 3, although the numbers are considered preliminary until investigations into each case conclude. The report shows all but two of the deaths happened in the Interior or Fraser health regions and involved victims aged 40 to over 90, with six in their 70s.
