Hydro Quebec Crews To Lend A Hand In New York During U.S. Snowstorm

The Canadian Press, 23 Jan, 2016 01:28 PM
MONTREAL — Hydro-Quebec says more than 200 of its workers are in New York to help during the massive storm battering the East Coast of the United States.

Spokesman Marc-Antoine Pouliot says the company received a request for help from the electrical provider in Long Island.

Pouliot says the Hydro-Quebec linemen will help with fallen trees and downed power lines in that area.

The winter storm that has dumped snow from the Gulf Coast to New England has made many roads impassable and caused large-scale power outages.

The weather service's Weather Prediction Center estimated that New York would receive 40 to 50 centimetres of snow.
