Hot summer predicted for Western Canada

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 31 May, 2023 03:45 PM
  • Hot summer predicted for Western Canada

A summer weather forecast suggests Canada is in for fewer scorching hot days this season.

The Weather Network predicts overall temperatures will be cooler than past summers of record heat.

Chief meteorologist Chris Scott says it will be a cooler summer for much of Eastern Canada, and Central Canada can expect fewer 30-degree days in June, July and August.

But he expects warmer-than-normal temperatures in Western Canada, which will likely keep western wildfires as "a major concern" later this year when the second fire season is expected to ramp up in July and August
