Honda Celebration returns to English Bay for its milestone 30th year with 3 nights of magical fireworks and a brand new Festival Zone

Vancouver, BC - The countdown is on for the Honda Celebration of Light, returning for its milestone 30th year to illuminate the skies around English Bay with a breathtaking display of fireworks July 23, July 27, and July 30.

However, as guests plan for this year’s event, they are some changes to the layout with the creation of a new festival hub in the heart of the action at Morton Park.

The Morton Park Festival Zone will be an all-ages, family friendly area operating each day of the fireworks festival from 2 p.m. - 8 p.m.

Attendees are sure to enjoy their visit to the festival hub, which features live music, mouth-watering food trucks, sponsor activations and vendors.

“After a two-year hiatus, BC's most beloved event is returning with a bang!” explains Paul Runnals, Executive Producer with Brandlive. “Featuring competing teams from Japan, Canada, and Spain, live music, food trucks and the return of both the Red Bull Air Show and the iconic Canadian Snowbirds presented this year by Concord Pacific, you won't want to miss the excitement happening throughout English Bay.”

The Morton Park Festival Zone functions as the heart of the action for the 2022 Honda Celebration of Light, having been newly relocated from the installations of previous years at Second Beach and Sunset Beach.
 
For those planning their trips to the Honda Celebration of Light and Morton Park Festival Zone, please note that there will be a bike lane detour and partial road closure along Beach Avenue beginning at 9 a.m. each day of the event. Restricted vehicle access for non-residents of the West End will also be in place from 7 p.m. daily.
 
Honda Celebration of Light attendees are encouraged to show their national pride and celebrate the return of the Honda Celebration of Light with visitors from around the world.

SATURDAY | JULY 30 - SPAIN - Pirotecnia Zaragozana
Founded in 1860, Pirotecnia Zaragozana is one of the most awarded companies in Spain.  Since then, the tradition transmitted generation to generation, combined with constant innovation, have made Pirotecnia Zaragozana synonymous, throughout the world, with prestigious, safe, and quality shows. The Honda Barge Tour given by Kelly Guille, President, Archangel Fireworks Inc. provided media an exclusive sneak peek into how the fireworks presentation is developed and produced .

At 10:00 p.m. each night the fireworks will begin. Music simulcast will be heard on The Breeze 104.3 FM and Z 95.3 FM. The winning team will be announced on Tuesday, August 2nd.
 
The event also welcomes back the Red Bull Air Show, a spectacular pre-show performance happening on all three festival nights, and on Wednesday, July 27th we are delighted to have the iconic Canadian Snowbird team back to perform their formation flyovers at English Bay, presented by Concord Pacific.

Attendees can reserve a seat with exclusive VIP and family-friendly viewing options with the best seats in the house! Limited seats are available for the three ticketed viewing locations: Scotiabank Lounge, Concord Lounge at the Inukshuk, and the English Bay Grandstand. For those interested in hosting private groups with the best views of the barges, there are VIP private cabanas and larger group hosting patio spaces available to rent.
