Saskatoon police say a teenage girl is in custody after an infant died on the weekend.

Officers were called early Sunday to a home in the College Park neighbourhood, where they found the injured boy.

The baby was taken to hospital, where he later died.

Police have arrested a 16-year-old girl, who is not a relative of the child.

They say the death marks the city's ninth homicide of the year.
