Homeless Woman Trapped In Clothing Donation Bin Dies After Being Rescued In Pitt Meadows

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 29 Sep, 2015 10:13 AM
PITT MEADOWS, B.C. — Ridge Meadows RCMP confirm a tragic ending to a strange rescue in the Vancouver-area suburb.

A twitter post from the detachment confirms a 45-year-old homeless woman has died after being pulled from a clothing donation bin at a mall in Pitt Meadows, east of Vancouver.

The victim was having trouble breathing and was taken to hospital Sunday night, after firefighters cut the bin open to pull her out.

Police say the woman had apparently been leaning into the bin through its small raised opening when she fell inside and became stuck, upside down.

It wasn't known how long she was suspended in that position before help arrived.
