Surrey has approved what city council is calling its biggest municipal transportation investment in history.
The council has approved a 138-million-dollar extension of 72 Avenue from 152 Street to Highway 15, a roughly 4-kilometre stretch.

The new road will feature two lanes in each direction along with improved agricultural ditches to address both transportation and farming needs.
The city estimates the road will serve 37-thousand vehicles each day once completed, and construction is expected to take place between 2028 and 2030.
