Jonathan Cardinal, a 29-year-old federal sex offender who failed to return to his Vancouver halfway house last week, has been arrested by police.
Just before midnight on July 7, two uniformed officers noticed Cardinal walking in the Downtown Eastside.
Cardinal initially provided officers with a false name, however, he was arrested after officers discovered his identity.
Cardinal is in custody.
On July 5, 2019, investigators, with the assistance of the Tactical Unit, executed a Criminal Code search warrant in the area of Central Parkway and Eglinton Avenue, Mississauga.
