Help Surrey RCMP Find Shawn Lachance, A Suspect In Weapons And Assault Investigation

, 16 Dec, 2016 01:27 PM
Surrey RCMP is asking for the public’s assistance in locating Shawn LACHANCE who has a warrant for his arrest for assault and weapons offences that occurred in November in the Surrey City Centre area.

On November 24, 2016, Surrey RCMP was called to a pub in the 10700 block of King George Boulevard at 1:05am. A male suspect, Shawn LACHANCE, 25 years old of Langley, got into an argument with another male and eventually threatened him with a hand gun. Staff at the pub intervened to try to diffuse the situation. LACHANCE punched one of the staff and then threatened them with the handgun before fleeing the scene.

Surrey RCMP Serious Crime Unit is leading this investigation and is asking for the public’s assistance to locate LACHANCE who is now wanted for Assault and Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose. LACHANCE should be considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached.

LACHANCE is described as a Caucasian male, 5’6 tall, 150 lbs, with hazel eyes and brown hair. He may have a beard and also is known to wear his hair in a ponytail. LACHANCE has many tattoos including the word tum tum on one side of his neck, and script style writing on the other side.

Anyone with more information is asked to contact the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 or Crime Stoppers, if they wish to remain anonymous, at 1-800-222-TIPS or www.solvecrime.ca. Anyone who sees LACHANCE should not approach him and call 9-1-1 immediately.
