Help Surrey Police Identify Suspect In Attempted ATM Robbery In Newton

, 19 Jan, 2017 12:46 PM
Surrey RCMP is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a male suspect in an attempted ATM robbery in Newton.

On July 7th, 2016, Surrey RCMP was called to the 7100 block of 120th Street after an attempted robbery. The adult male suspect, who was in possession of a knife, tried to rob the victim as he left the ATM. The victim was able to escape and called police immediately. Officers, including a Police Dog Service team, were unable to track down the suspect.

Despite some early leads in this investigation, Surrey RCMP’s General Investigation Unit has been unable to positively identify the suspect and is now seeking the assistance of the public. Officers are releasing a surveillance photo from the scene, which shows the suspect as a Caucasian male wearing a blue hoody.
