Hearing Begins In Shooting Death Near Salmon Arm, B.C., Elementary School

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 28 Apr, 2015 11:05 AM
KAMLOOPS, B.C. — A hearing is underway in the death of a 22-year-old who was shot beside a British Columbia elementary school.

Tyler Myers was killed in a schoolyard in Salmon Arm in November 2008 and his body was discovered the following day.

Four years later, a 20-year-old man and 21-year-old woman were arrested and charged with first-degree murder.

Neither can be named because both were youths at the time of Myers's death.

A voir dire expected to last three weeks began in a Kamloops court on Monday to determine admissible evidence before an anticipated jury trial in August.

The evidence being heard is bound by a court-ordered publication ban. (Kamloops This Week)
