NANAIMO, B.C. — A head-on crash in Nanaimo. B.C., has killed a teenager and sent a 35-year-old man to hospital with critical head injuries.
 
RCMP in the Vancouver Island city say the collision happened at around 10:30 Monday night.
 
A southbound Suzuki Sidekick crossed into the northbound lanes of the Nanaimo Parkway, slamming into an oncoming Mazda RX8.
 
The 19-year-old Nanaimo man driving the Mazda died at the scene.
 
The Nanoose Bay resident at the wheel of the Suzuki has been airlifted to hospital in Victoria.
 
A cause of the crash remains under investigation.
