OTTAWA — Prime Minister Stephen Harper says he is looking forward to working with incoming Alberta premier Rachel Notley.
Harper says he doesn't want to comment on the outcome of this week's election in his home province other than to say Alberta and Canada have shared priorities.
Notley and the NDP swept to power in Alberta on Tuesday and toppled a 44-year Progressive Conservative dynasty.
PC Leader Jim Prentice resigned as leader and stepped down from the seat he had just won.
Prentice was a key member of Harper's cabinet before moving onto provincial politics.
Harper was loudly jeered by NDP supporters when Notley mentioned him in her victory speech.
