HAMILTON — A Hamilton, Ont., man will be charged with first-degree murder after emergency crews found a woman dead at the scene of an apartment fire.

Hamilton police say firefighters were called to the blaze Sunday afternoon in an apartment building in downtown Hamilton.

They say 65-year-old Marylin Mitton was found inside without vital signs.

Police say she was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.

That evening, Hamilton police say they arrested a 66-year-old Wayne Bell, who lives in the same building.
