HALIFAX — A military base in Halifax was locked down Monday for about an hour after receiving a report of a person with a gun.
 
The base was reopened at 3:15 p.m. local time after an investigation found "no evidence" to substantiate the report of the person.
 
Navy Lt. Len Hickey, a spokesman for the Shearwater base, says military police worked with the RCMP to deal with the perceived threat.
 
It's the second time the base has been locked down in the past two weeks, with the base briefly being locked down on April 26 after a similar report.
