Halifax Cab Driver Facing Sex Assault Charge Now Charged In Second Incident

The Canadian Press, 17 Aug, 2016 01:22 PM
Halifax police say a taxi driver facing a sexual assault charge has now been charged in connection with another assault involving a taxi passenger.

Police arrested a 44-year-old man on July 9, shortly after a 20-year-old woman reported that a taxi driver had kissed and touched her in a sexual manner without her consent.

While investigating the incident, police say investigators identified the man as a suspect in a sexual assault that happened around 1 a.m. on June 4.

A 25-year-old woman said a taxi driver had touched her in a sexual manner before dropping her off at her destination.

Police say Milad Houssen was arrested Tuesday afternoon when he turned himself in at the city's main police station.

He's scheduled to appear in provincial court in September on two separate dates to face charges related to the two incidents.

Last month, Halifax police said there had been 14 cases of sex assaults involving cab drivers in the last four years.
