The latest outlook from the World Bank predicts the growth of the global economy will likely slow sharply this year.
The anti-poverty agency estimates the international economy will expand just 2.1 per cent after growing 3.1 per cent last year.
That is a slightly rosier forecast than the one the World Bank released in January, when it predicted worldwide growth of just 1.7 per cent this year.
Among the factors slowing the economy's growth are high interest rates, Russia's war in Ukraine and the lingering effects of the pandemic.
