Girl found safe, to be returned to mother

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 24 Feb, 2022 05:23 PM
  • Girl found safe, to be returned to mother

REGINA - RCMP say a Saskatchewan man accused of having abducted his seven-year-old daughter has been arrested in British Columbia.

Police say the girl has been found safe and will be returned to her mother in Regina.

Last month, police issued a Canada-wide warrant for the arrest of Michael Gordon Jackson and charged him with abduction in contravention of a custody or parenting order.

During a news conference in Regina, Sgt. Daryl Milo said Jackson was arrested in Vernon, B.C.

Milo says RCMP there spotted Jackson and a girl in a vehicle parked outside a business.

Police say Milo remains in custody and is to be sent back to Regina, where he is to appear in court sometime next week.
