Gangs Suspected As Man Injured In Targeted East Vancouver Shooting

The Canadian Press, 04 May, 2016 11:45 AM
VANCOUVER — A man is recovering in hospital following a targeted shooting in east Vancouver.

Sgt. Randy Fincham says officers were called to the area of Oxford Street and Skeena Street in northeast Vancouver just after 11 p.m., Tuesday.

A man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds was found in the backyard of home.

Fincham says surgeons operated overnight and the man is expected to recover.

Officers have not determined a motive for the shooting but say the victim is well known to them and the attack is believed to be gang-related.

No arrests have been made and Fincham says police are searching for witnesses or security video that could aid the investigation.
