The federal and provincial governments have partnered up to improve air quality in B-C schools.

A joint investment of 3.2-million-dollars will go toward improving the ventilation systems at five elementary and secondary schools in the province.

Two of the schools in Abbotsford will receive funding to replace heat pumps, a chiller and a direct digital controls upgrade.

Schools in Chilliwack, 100 Mile House and Harrison Hot Springs will also see improvements including the replacement of air handling units where frequent ventilation is needed as well as rooftop units.

The incident occurred at 5:28 p.m. in theatre 6 where approximately 20-30 people, including children, were watching a movie. The male suspect entered the theater, sprayed viewers and fled the scene.

The Mounties were contacted around 8:30 p.m. on Monday, after someone noticed the statue had been vandalized, with the head having been removed. It is not yet known when the vandalism happened. It’s believed a power tool was likely used.
