B-C Ferries is removing a four per cent fuel surcharge from all fares, as it expects a record number of people and vehicles on board its vessels this summer.
It says the move set to take effect June 1st will increase affordability for customers.
B-C Ferries is also adding nearly 350 additional sailings during peak season along some of the busiest routes to meet the summer rush.
That will include third vessel serving the route between Tsawwassen and Duke Point, an additional early morning sailing between Swartz Bay and Tsawwassen and more scheduled sailings between Vancouver and the Sunshine Coast.
A Chilliwack man has been charged with aggravated assault and discharge of a firearm with intent, after a man was shot Sunday. R-C-M-P say they were called around 6 p-m about a disturbance on a property and found a 35-year-old man shot in the leg.
A cyclist has been killed in an accident involving a semi-truck in Surrey. R-C-M-P say officers responded to a report of a crash on Scott Road at 104th Avenue just before eight this morning.

On Tuesday just before 3:00 am, Langley RCMP received reports of an impaired driver operating a red motorcycle in the 20300 block of Fraser Highway. Fire investigators in Chilliwack are sifting through the charred debris of a church as they try to determine what sparked the blaze that gutted the building. Flames broke out at the Cross Connection Church just before three yesterday afternoon.
