Fraser Valley Hunters May Hold Key As Police Investigate Suspicious Death

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 21 Oct, 2015 01:19 PM
VANCOUVER — Homicide investigators in the Lower Mainland hope tips from the public can help them crack a case involving the suspicious death of a 26-year-old man.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team is appealing for information about the last movements of David Urquhart.

His remains were found Oct. 8, along a logging road north of Mission, B.C., about 75 kilometres east of Vancouver, more than five weeks after he was reported missing.

A release from IHIT says Urquhart was known to travel around the Fraser Valley, and was last seen in the Maple Ridge area in late August.

Sgt. Stephanie Ashton says Urquhart's remains were found in a remote area popular with hunters and she says investigators want to speak to anyone who may have seen something unusual.

She adds IHIT, the coroner's service and police across the Fraser Valley are working on the case, but the public and Urquhart's acquaintances must help uncover what happened before he died.
