The Fraser Health Authority says it will start construction on a new long-term care home in the Metro Vancouver city of Delta in 2025.
The project, which is expected to be finished in 2027, will replace Mountain View Manor and its 92 beds.
The new facility is being designed as households that accommodate 12 or 13 residents each, with 200 beds in total.
Each home will also include social and recreational spaces.
Mounties and firefighters in North Vancouver say one person died in a house fire in the city. The North Vancouver R-C-M-P and the city's fire department say they are investigating Friday's blaze in the 400-block of Queensbury Avenue.
