Fourth Person Dies From Multi-Vehicle Crash On Highway 401

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 05 Oct, 2015 10:23 AM
WHITBY, Ont. — A fourth person has died after a massive car crash on a major highway east of Toronto.

Police say a 10-year-old boy died in hospital Sunday as a result of injuries from a 20-vehicle collision on Highway 401 in Whitby, Ont., on Friday night.

They say a man, woman and another boy died and another four remain in hospital with one in critical condition.

Police say the collision occurred when a transport truck driving westbound crashed into slower moving vehicles approaching a construction site, which caused a chain reaction.

The driver of the truck wasn't injured.

Police say no charges have been laid, but their investigation is ongoing.
