Four Vehicle Crash In B.C. Leaves One Dead, Closes Highway 16 For Hours

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 16 Jan, 2019 12:21 AM

PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. — One woman has died in a four vehicle crash west of Prince George, B.C.

RCMP say the unnamed victim was in an eastbound Ford SUV on Highway 16 between Vanderhoof and Prince George at about 6 p.m. Monday.

Her vehicle veered across the centreline and slammed into an oncoming fuel tanker.

Two westbound vehicles following the tanker were also involved but no one else suffered major injuries.

Cpl. Mike Halskov with RCMP Traffic Services says a cause of the crash is under investigation but it was foggy, the road surface was slippery and temperatures were below freezing at the time.

No fuel spilled from the transport truck and Halskov says Highway 16 reopened about 11 hours after the collision.
