Four People Dead After Fiery Crash In Brampton, Ont., On Monday Night

The Canadian Press, 11 Oct, 2016 11:27 AM
BRAMPTON, Ont. — Police are investigating after four people were killed in a fiery crash in Brampton, Ont., on Monday night.
Peel Region police say the incident took place just before 9 p.m. (near Bovaird Dr. and Gillingham Dr.).

Const. Mark Fischer says a 1998 Pontiac Trans Am driven by a 49-year-old man from Brampton was travelling westbound when, for unknown reasons, the man, who was the only one in the car, lost control of the vehicle.

He says the vehicle went into the opposite lane where it collided with an eastbound 2016 Kia which was carrying three people.

Fischer says a 24-year-old man driving the Kia and two sisters who were in the vehicle — a 22-year-old woman and a 16-year-old girl — as well as the driver of the Trans Am were killed in the crash.

He says the crash sparked a fire that swiftly engulfed both vehicles.

The major collision bureau is investigating and police say it's too early to tell if speed or alcohol were factors in the crash.
