  • Four people arrested at Boundary Road & Grandview Highway demonstration

On Wednesday, April 27 at 9:09 a.m., Burnaby RCMP frontline officers responded to multiple reports of approximately eight demonstrators blocking the intersection of Grandview Highway and Boundary Road.

Several demonstrators left the area upon police arrival; however, one man and three women, including one who glued herself to the road, were arrested for Mischief and Intimidation by blocking or obstructing a highway.

“Two of these individuals were in breach of conditions not to take part in this type of activity,” said Corporal Mike Kalanj with the Burnaby RCMP. “The investigation is ongoing.”

This demonstration caused delays and public safety concerns in all directions.

AbbyPD Patrol Officers responded to the 1700 block of Clearbrook Road for a report of a female lying on the roadway. Upon arrival, a 50-year-old female was located suffering from serious life-threatening injuries after exiting a vehicle while it was in motion. The female was transported to the hospital by air ambulance.
