The Canadian Press, 29 Sep, 2015 01:04 PM
  • Four Pedestrians Injured, Two Seriously, After Being Struck By Montreal Taxi
MONTREAL — Police say two of four pedestrians who were struck by a taxi in downtown Montreal remain in critical condition in hospital.

Montreal police spokesman Francois Collard says the two are a 45-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman.

The two other people who were hit were not seriously hurt.

A 17-year-old woman was taken to hospital with minor leg injuries.

The fourth pedestrian, a woman in her 20s, was treated for shock.

Collard says initial reports suggest the cab driver had a green light.

He adds it's too early to say if any charges will be laid.

The accident occurred just after 3 a.m. as the taxi was heading westbound along Rene Levesque Blvd.
