Former Vancouver Stealth Head Coach Chris Hall Dies Of Cancer At 64

The Canadian Press, 22 Dec, 2014 11:57 AM
VANCOUVER — Chris (C.H.) Hall, former head coach of the National Lacrosse League's Vancouver Stealth, has died after a four-year battle with cancer.

    He was 64.

Hall served as a head coach in the NLL for 12 seasons, first with the Calgary Roughnecks from 2002-2007 before finishing his coaching career with the Vancouver Stealth franchise from 2009-2014.

The Victoria native amassed a win total of 85 regular season games — third most all-time. In 2010, he was the co-recipient of the NLL Coach of the Year award.

Hall is one of only three head coaches in the league to have won NLL Champions Cup titles with two different teams after leading Calgary in 2004 and Washington in 2010. He was inducted into the National Lacrosse League Hall of Fame earlier this year.

"Losing C.H. today is devastating," Stealth captain Curtis Hodgson said in a statement. "C.H. was a tremendous coach but more importantly he was an outstanding person and role model who brought out the best in his players.

"The courage he showed while leading our team over the last several seasons, despite his health issues, have had an enormous impact on us all. Our thoughts and deepest sympathies go out to (Hall's wife) Pam and the entire Hall family."

Hall also spent time as the head coach and assistant general manager of the Canadian national team from 1988 to 1994, and led the English national team in subsequent years.
