Former Miss Nevada Katherine Nicole Rees Arrested On Meth Trafficking Charges

The Canadian Press, 10 Jul, 2015 01:16 PM
  • Former Miss Nevada Katherine Nicole Rees Arrested On Meth Trafficking Charges
Former Miss Nevada Katherine Nicole Rees was arrested for allegedly selling and being in possession of meth.

The beauty pageant alumni was charged with multiple felonies that included trafficking of a controlled substance, sale of a controlled substance and two counts of conspiracy to violate the uniform controlled substances act, reports aceshowbiz.com.

According to legal papers filed on Monday in Las Vegas Justice Court, Rees sold meth to someone identified only as J. Peacock in September before she was found in possession of 5.3 gm of meth a month later.

The complaint further claimed that Katherine conspired with "unknown co-conspirators." On Wednesday, an arrest warrant was issued for her.

Back in 2009, Rees said that she was not using any kind of drug, in an interview with an Australia TV show after swabs of her laptop and Louis Vuitton bag tested positive for cocaine and meth at Sydney airport.

"I don't use cocaine. I don't use any kind of pill, no kind of Xanax, no anything. I don't use anything," she had said.

Contrary to her claim of being drug-free on the show, the former beauty queen pleaded guilty to one count of possession of a drug in 2012.

She did so in exchange for prosecutors dismissing other charges including unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and one ounce or less of marijuana.

She was ordered to stay out of trouble and undergo drug counselling. According to court records, Rees managed to complete the counselling.
