Former CTV Anchor Tamara Taggart Seeks Federal Liberal Nomination In Vancouver

    VANCOUVER — Former television news anchor Tamara Taggart says she's seeking the federal Liberal party's nomination in the riding of Vancouver Kingsway.


    Taggart, 50, co-anchored the CTV News at Six with Mike Killeen for seven years until April.


    She says she joined the race because she wanted to do something different and challenging, adding that her top priorities are affordable housing, protecting the environment while boosting the economy, and women's health and safety.


    The riding is held by New Democrat MP Don Davies.


    Taggart, who is married to 54-40 guitarist Dave Genn and has three kids, says her family were longtime residents of the riding until its boundaries were recently redrawn, putting their home a few blocks outside it.


    Taggart is also a recipient of the Order of British Colu
