Forensic Dentist Says 'baby Tooth' Recovered From Ashes At Murder Suspect's Farm

The Canadian Press, 02 Feb, 2017 01:05 PM
CALGARY — A forensic dentist says he was able to identify what was very likely a baby tooth and an adult crown in the ash found at the farm of a triple murder suspect.

Dr. William Blair examined a number of fragments in July, 2014 that were recovered from the property where Douglas Garland lived north of Calgary.

Garland is on trial facing three counts of first-degree murder in the disappearance of Alvin and Kathy Liknes and their five-year-old grandson Nathan O'Brien.

Blair says he determined the crown didn't belong to Kathy Liknes but said it likely belonged to her husband.

Another fragment he said was very likely a baby tooth from the bottom jaw.

The bodies of the three victims have never been recovered except for tooth and bone fragments.
