Darpan News Desk IANS, 15 Apr, 2014 01:14 PM
  • Five killed in Calgary House Party Stabbing. Charged Teen is policeman's son
Five people were killed in a stabbing rampage during a house party in the southwest Canadian city of Calgary early Tuesday. One suspect has been arrested, police said.

Police received reports of a stabbing soon after midnight at a house in a quiet suburban neighbourhood where police officers found three people dead, Xinhua quoted police as saying.

Two more died of their injuries while being rushed to the hospital, the police said, adding that the victims included four men and a woman, reportedly all in their late teens or early 20s.

The police said a man who had fled from the home was arrested with the help of a canine unit.

Neighbours said the home was being rented by University of Calgary students and that they were having a so-called Bermuda shorts day party that started Monday evening.

Police said they were working to identify the victims and notify next of kin. Names will be released after autopsies are performed.
