  • First Indian NBA Player Satnam Singh Bhamara Makes Summer League Debut In Team's Defeat
India's first National Basketball Association (NBA) player Satnam Singh Bhamara made his Summer League debut for Dallas Mavericks against New Orleans in a match that saw his team go down 86-90.

Satnam scored four points on his Summer League debut at the Cox Pavilion stadium on Saturday but couldn't prevent his team's defeat.

The 7ft 2in giant also contributed three rebounds and one assist in a total game time of just over 10 minutes.

Satnam was satisfied with his performance and felt he would announce his arrival on the big stage soon.

"I feel better after playing my first Summer League game here. After a year or two playing with the team, getting more experience with the teammates, I will come to that big moment (NBA first team debut)," said Satnam after the game on Saturday.

The Mavericks return to the Cox Pavilion on Sunday night for a meeting against Portland Trail Blazers.
