Fire engulfs Surrey housing complex

Darpan News Desk, 10 Aug, 2023 12:00 AM
  • Fire engulfs Surrey housing complex

At least 20 Surrey residents spent the night out of their homes -- and some could be out for much longer -- after flames tore through a housing complex in that city's Clayton neighbourhood.

Surrey Fire Service deputy chief Shelley Morris says four homes have been destroyed and as many as four more are damaged after flames from a garage fire spread quickly.

The fire broke out at around 6:30 last night.

No one were hurt and Morris says crews are still trying to determine a cause of the blaze.dmag

Canada's oil output would plummet by 2050 in a net-zero world, new modelling shows
The regulator says if emissions regulations successfully limit global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius, fossil fuel use will drop by 65 per cent from 2021 to 2050. That would prompt a collapse in global oil prices, to as low as US$35 per barrel by 2030 and US$24 per barrel by 2050.
