Fed workers strike continues across Canada

Federal workers are on strike at more than 250 locations across Canada as part of a job action by the Public Service Alliance of Canada.

It's day two of the strike, which came after bargaining groups failed to come to an agreement over a few sticking points -- including wages.

P-SAC's national president Chris Aylward told reporters yesterday that enough is enough.

Both the union and federal government are warning of major service disruptions as a result of the strike.

B.C. adds $2 million for suicide prevention, care

Malcolmson says the money will be spread across regional health authorities to provide training and resources for health workers caring for people experiencing a mental health crisis, with the aim of reducing suicide deaths. Malcolmson's ministry says the provincial coroners service investigated 582 suicide deaths last year, down from 597 in 2020 and 634 in 2019.
