A 60-year-old pedestrian is dead after being hit by a vehicle in Abbotsford.
Police say they responded just after 6 a-m to the collision on Gladys Avenue and found the woman suffering from serious injuries.
They say the driver remained at the scene.
Police say the driver is co-operating and the initial investigation suggests impairment was not a factor in the crash.

Police in New Westminster are asking for the public's help identifying a woman who they say stole 20-thousand dollars worth of jewelry from a senior citizen. They say the victim was approached by a woman in her 30s who gave her fake gold jewelry and stole the senior's rings and necklace.

On Friday, the country's highest court unanimously dismissed an appeal by a group of airlines that challenged Canada's passenger rights charter. The City of Surrey says it has completed a cleanup project in the Nicomekl River in South Surrey. It says abandoned or wrecked vessels, rafts and associated garbage was all pulled from the river.
