Ex-Vancouver mayor, Kennedy Stewart, takes aim at current mayor Ken Sim

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 15 May, 2023 10:51 AM
  • Ex-Vancouver mayor, Kennedy Stewart, takes aim at current mayor Ken Sim

The former mayor of Vancouver is lobbing critical grenades at the current city administration under Mayor Ken Sim.

Kennedy Stewart says a memorandum of understanding between the city, the park board, and the province, meant to help people living in encampments, is being "recklessly disregarded."

He describes Sim's support of the V-P-D in dismantling the tent encampment as "hyper colonial" and "cruel."

Stewart says Sim was not telling the truth with claims that adequate housing was available to people whose tents and possessions were lost in the sweep of Hastings Street in April.
