Explosive device found in Kamloops

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 02 Jan, 2025 03:38 PM
  • Explosive device found in Kamloops

Mounties in Kamloops are looking for witnesses after an explosive device was found on the beach on New Year's Day.

They say officers responded to the area of Schubert Drive and Richmond Avenue yesterday around 1:20 p.m. and found the "suspicious device."

Spokeswoman Corporal Crystal Evelyn says officers believed it was a very small pipe bomb based on its appearance, which was later confirmed.

She says police blocked off the area until the device was safely disposed, but the R-C-M-P are now asking anyone with information to come forward.
