Edmonton Police Say Pizza Place Was Delivering Liquor, Beer In Pie Boxes

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 17 Oct, 2015 01:26 PM
EDMONTON — Investigators say staff at an Edmonton pizza shop have been delivering more than tasty pies.

Police say 240 cans of beer and 100 bottles of spirits were found inside pizza boxes and brown paper bags at an unlicensed restaurant.

The restaurant was shut down for one day and four employees were issued a provincial summons under the Gaming and Liquor Act.

Investigators believe the alcohol was being sold illegally during deliveries and inside the restaurant after hours.

Police say the investigation began last month after beat officers received a tip.
