Edmonton police investigate deaths in multiple locations

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 30 Dec, 2014 10:31 AM

EDMONTON — Police say they are investigating multiple homicides at a house in north Edmonton.

Few details are available but police say they were called to the home Monday night.

Officers are also busy dealing with the suspicious death of a woman in the southwest part of the city.

Her body was found after officers answered a call about a weapon in a home.

RCMP say they have also been called in to help city police with an investigation in nearby Fort Saskatchewan.

Mounties closed off access to the community's downtown early this morning but later reopened the area.

RCMP say the situation has been resolved and there is no threat to the public.

Police haven't said whether the three incidents are linked.

Edmonton police Chief Rod Knecht is speak at a news conference this afternoon.
