Duffy charged taxpayers for personal trainer, makeup artist and funeral travel

    Senator Mike Duffy allegedly charged taxpayers in order to cover costs for a personal trainer, makeup artist and personal travel to funerals and other ceremonies. 
     
    New court documents have shed light on further details on the 31 charges laid against Duffy. These documents allege five "inappropriate expense claims associated with personal attendance at funeral and related ceremonies." 
     
    Further, these claims were filed from June 2009 to September 2012 and contain "false or misleading information." 
     
    Jacqueline Lambert, a makeup artist mentioned in an interview to media that she once did makeup for Duffy for a photo shoot. "I made him look good for his Senate photos," Lambert said.
     
    Thirty-one criminal charges were laid against the 68-year-old last week accusing him of squandering more than $200,000. 
     
    Duffy is scheduled to appear in court on September 16.
