Driver, Passenger Arrested After March Pedestrian Hit-And-Run In Surrey

Darpan News Desk , 13 Apr, 2018 12:26 PM
With help from the public, Surrey RCMP has identified the driver allegedly involved in a pedestrian hit and run which occurred on March 18, 2018.

Both the driver and the passenger of the suspect vehicle were arrested on April 4, 2018. Both were later released on a promise to appear in court at a later date. Charges have not been laid at this time, as the investigation is continuing.

Having the witness video available to share with the public was very important in this case, says Cpl. Elenore Sturko. Ultimately it was people who were willing to do the right thing and come forward with information who advanced the investigation.

The Surrey RCMP would like to thank the media for helping distribute the images which assisted in identifying the alleged driver and passenger.

Drivers in British Columbia are required by law to remain at the scene of an accident. Failure to remain at the scene of an accident carries penalties under the Motor Vehicle Act or may lead to criminal charges.
