Driver charged with impaired driving causing death

Surrey R-C-M-P say a driver has been charged with impaired driving causing death after a pedestrian was struck and killed while at a bus stop over the weekend.
Investigators say on Saturday afternoon a truck crossed into oncoming traffic and then collided with a bus stop bench injuring two pedestrians and causing damage to the surrounding property.
Police say one male pedestrian was declared dead at the scene and a second was transported to hospital with minor injuries.
A 44-year-old driver was arrested at the scene and is facing charges of dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death and impaired driving causing death.
Residents in Calgary are being directed not to take showers or baths and some are being told to boil their water as the city grapples with a major water main break. The city issued the warning just before the morning commute following the water main break in the city’s northwest.
