Vancouver's city council is extending a program that allows people to drink alcohol in certain plazas until May 2025.
The city says the program has gone ahead successfully for four years.
It says the spaces provide residents and visitors with safe, free options where they can socialize and enjoy alcohol responsibly.
Drinking in the designated plazas will be allowed from 11 a-m to 9 p-m daily during the warmer months.
Drinking won't be allowed after 5 p-m in the fall and winter when it gets dark earlier.
